Tapestry offers a unique capacity to light up and warm a space, just by virtue of it's color saturation and the way that light enters the fibers, and moves around inside the image.
My work in tapestry features shaped and rectangular weaving in wool, cotton, silk, linen, raffia and other fibers that intrigue me and advance the ideas and images in each of the one-of-a-kind hand woven tapestries that I make. There is no substitute for the handwork in tapestry.
Impeccable craftsmanship is required from the very start. While most often working from personal designs, I sometimes collaborate with other artists, designers, and clients to bring fresh ideas to a time honored form of fiber art. I create pieces for exhibition, and will be happy to talk with you or your clients about commissioned work.
Prices are dependent on the complexity of the weaving, size, and materials desired.
